Disclosure Information on Fire Incident in One of the Waste Paper Open Storage Area
Jakarta October 3rd, 2013 – at around 1:15 PM, on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013, one of the raw material open storage area for waste paper, located in PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk’s (FajarPaper) (FASW.JK) mill, in west Cikarang, was caught on fire. The area is well contained, which prevented the fire from spreading to other locations and facilities in the mill.
At the time of this release, the majority of the fire at the scene has been handled and extinguished. Continuous efforts have been carried out to identify and to locate any hot spot, which potentially could trigger another fire. Investigation of the incident will be carried out as soon as those efforts are completed, and it is confirmed that the situation is safe to conduct the investigation.
It has been confirmed that there was no fatality at the scene, and no material damage can be concluded, pending the investigation results.
FajarPaper currently owns several waste paper storage areas, scattered around the mill, and thus, no significant impact to the Company’s business sustainability. However, due to safety measure, FajarPaper has decided to temporarily stop its production until it is safe to resume the production activities.
